Singaporean photographer Jingna Zhang recently won a two-year copyright battle against fine art painter Jeff Dieschburg in a Luxembourg court. Initially losing due to "insufficient originality," Zhang appealed and ultimately succeeded. Zhang celebrated her win on social media, highlighting the importance of global copyright protection, even in the digital era, and hopes her case inspires other artists to defend their rights against unauthorized use.

Instagram's new “Made with AI” labels are causing confusion among photographers and content creators, as posts with minimal or no AI editing are being tagged as AI. Photographer Peter Yan questioned Instagram head Adam Mosseri after his real photo of Mount Fuji was mislabeled due to using Photoshop. The label was removed after Mosseri's response. Similarly, another user's video was marked as AI without a clear reason. These labels currently only appear on the mobile app.

Panasonic's new Lumix S9 camera is embroiled in controversy after it was revealed that promotional photos were taken with other cameras. One notable image was taken by former Nikon ambassador M. Bezergheanu in 2016 with a Nikon D810. Other images reportedly came from stock photo sites, with some being composites. After sharp-eyed photographers noticed these inconsistencies, Panasonic Japan issued an apology for the misleading captions.
