What's abuzz in the photography world this week?
1. Stock Photo Secrets
Adobe Stock has recently announced that it accepts images generated by artificial intelligence. They have developed new rules for submitting this type of content, which guarantee the responsible and ethical use of AI content. That makes Adobe one of the first major stock photo services to accept AI images from creators and, thus, one of the first to license AI content as stock.
2. Peta Pixel
On October 31, Cardi B posted on Instagram a series of pictures taken by photographer Jora Frantzis, in which she dressed up as the cartoon character Marge Simpson for Halloween. Artist AleXandro Palombo claims that the idea of one of Cardi B´s photos is directly taken from his series of works that he created in 2013. The artist is now suing the American pop star and her "closest collaborators" for unauthorized use of his artwork.
3. Shotkit
Though Picsart announced its new free image-generation tool on November 2, the AI-powered tool is already being used over a million times per day by people to generate their images. Many of these are freely available through the site’s free-to-edit library for anyone to use in the way they like. That library is sure to grow enormously in the coming months.
4. Action Speaks Louder
According to an analysis by Transition Asia, Canon's new 2030 emissions reduction target has been lowered from an initial commitment of 50% to around 23% comparative emissions reduction. Canon has been criticized for not taking its climate action seriously enough. Such a policy change would be almost unprecedented in a corporate world that continues to ramp up climate ambitions.
5. Digital Camera World
