The Association of Photographers (AOP) in the United Kingdom has revealed the finalists for the 38th AOP Photography Awards, where judges have praised the exceptional quality of the submissions. This year´s entries showcase a diverse range of subjects, from capturing special moments in sports to creating emotive portraits.

The AOP Photography Awards, often referred to as the 'Oscars' of the photography world, are dedicated to honoring excellence in the creative photography and image-making industry.

So, what's different or noteworthy for this year's event?

In this year's 38th AOP Photography Awards, a new category called "Spaces" has been introduced. Additionally, two new award nominations will be considered from the selected finalists: Best Commissioned Work and Best Personal Work.

The competition saw a significant number of entries, with 914 submissions from 732 photographers, encompassing both still images and moving entries. The 10 categories offered to the photographers were Lifestyle, Portrait, Documentary, Environment, Still life + Object, Food + Drink, Fashion + Beauty, Sport, Project, and Spaces.

Among these categories, the numbers of finalists in each are as follows: Food & Drink (10), Documentary (13), Lifestyle (11), Environment (14), Fashion & Beauty (9), Sport (8), Project (6), Portrait (15), Still Life & Object (8), and Spaces (13) - the latter being a new category.

Notably, Fair Licensing by PIXRAY takes pride in being the sponsor of the AOP Awards in the "Food & Drinks" category.

Why do we support this event? Dennis Wetzig, CEO // Co-Founder of PIXRAY comments on this:

"The AOP awards are all about the appreciation of great photography. And that is what is at the core of our company, too. Our product Fair Licensing is software to help photographers sell licenses to copyright infringers. Directly. Without involving any lawyers or middlemen. The fair and friendly way.”
